Shipibo Fall Ayahuasca Retreat
Fall Shipibo Ayahuasca Retreat
November 6–9, 2026 | Hempstead, Texas
Beloved Soul Family,
You are warmly invited to gather with us for three nights of sacred ceremony held within the Shipibo tradition, guided by Maestro Carlos Chávez of the Peruvian Amazon.
This retreat is an invitation to walk the path of remembrance with Ayahuasca and the sacred amphibian medicines, ancient teachers of the Earth that may open pathways into deep healing, expanded awareness, and greater alignment with Spirit.
This journey is for those who feel the call rising from within; those ready to listen beyond the surface of the mind, explore the deeper landscapes of consciousness, and meet what is ready to be witnessed, understood, and transformed. It is a space to reconnect with Great Spirit, our Earth Mother, and the living intelligence that moves through all of creation.
It is my deepest honor to welcome Maestro Carlos back to Texas and to create a loving, grounded, and intentional container where each soul may feel supported throughout the experience. Together, we enter ceremony in reverence, allowing the medicine, the icaros, the land, and the presence of community to meet us exactly where we are.
Together, we walk the Beauty Way, returning to the Truth of who we are and restoring our sacred relationship with ourselves, one another, and all of life.
Retreat Dates
Friday, November 6th
Saturday, November 7th
Sunday, November 8th
Departure Monday, November 9th
You may attend one, two, or all three nights. Those attending the entire retreat will be held within the unfolding of a three-night ceremonial journey, allowing each ceremony to build upon and deepen the work of the night before.
Location
Hempstead, Texas
The exact address, arrival instructions, and retreat memo will be provided approximately one week before the retreat to all confirmed participants who have completed their deposit, intake forms, and consultation.
Our retreat will be held on more than 500 acres of private land outside Hempstead. The property offers beautiful open space, privacy, and an opportunity to connect deeply with Mama Gaia throughout the weekend. Zebras, horses, cattle, buffalo, pigs, and other animals are lovingly tended on the land, adding to the living presence and unique beauty of this space.
We have established a beautiful relationship with the souls who care for this property, and it has become a space where our visiting maestros feel comfortable serving and carrying out their sacred work.
Ayahuasca ceremonies will be held outdoors beneath the night sky and within sacred darkness, weather permitting. The home also offers a spacious communal living area where the furniture will be cleared so participants may create comfortable sleeping spaces with their ceremony mats, bedding, and blankets. You are not required to bring a tent unless you prefer camping outdoors.
If you would like to bring a camper or trailer, please contact me in advance so we can make the appropriate arrangements.
Guided by Carlos Chávez
Shipibo Maestro and Wisdom Keeper
Carlos Chávez is a devoted son of the Amazon and a master curandero within the Shipibo lineage. His life has been shaped through more than three decades of communion with Ayahuasca and the sacred Master Plants of the jungle.
Carlos comes from a lineage of healers who walk in prayer and relationship with Pachamama. Although he carries generations of wisdom and profound experience, he serves with remarkable humility, warmth, and joy. To be in his presence is to feel deeply held while also being reminded of the beauty, simplicity, and sacredness of life.
In the mountains surrounding Tarapoto, Peru, Carlos tends a sacred medicine space where he carefully prepares Ayahuasca through prayer, devotion, and precision. Each preparation is approached as ceremony, honoring the intelligence of the plants, the wisdom of the jungle, and the lineage entrusted to him.
Carlos carries a powerful gift of vision that allows him to perceive the subtle places where energetic and spiritual imbalances may be held. Within the Shipibo tradition, one of the curandero’s most sacred healing instruments is the icaro, a medicine song received through direct relationship with the plants.
Throughout ceremony, Carlos works through these sacred songs to guide the movement of the medicine, cleanse dense energies, restore harmony, and perform what is understood within the tradition as spiritual surgery. When Carlos sings, it often feels as though the intelligence of the jungle itself is moving through the ceremonial space.
It is also a profound honor to share that the medicine we will receive was prepared by Carlos and me during my most recent Master Plant dieta in Peru. I participated in the full process of cooking this medicine in the jungle, tending the fire, working with the plants, and preparing each stage through prayer and devotion.
To now bring this medicine home and share it with our community carries a meaning that is deeply personal to me. It is medicine born through living relationship with the plants, the jungle, the Shipibo tradition, and the prayers carried throughout its preparation.
To sit in ceremony with Maestro Carlos is to be guided by generations of wisdom and invited into a profound relationship with healing, humility, joy, and remembrance.

Preparation and Screening
Every participant must complete an intake form, liability waiver, and private consultation before being approved to attend. Complete honesty regarding medications, supplements, physical health, mental health history, and recent medicine experiences is essential for your safety and the integrity of the ceremonial container.
Certain medications, health conditions, and combinations of substances may not be compatible with Ayahuasca, Kambo, or Bufo. Please do not discontinue any prescribed medication without first consulting the qualified medical professional who prescribed it. Further preparation instructions will be discussed during your consultation.
In the days leading into retreat, you are encouraged to begin simplifying your food, energy, and environment. A light dieta may help prepare the body and mind by reducing heavy foods, alcohol, recreational substances, overstimulation, and unnecessary distractions.
Preparation is not about perfection. It is an act of devotion that allows us to enter ceremony with greater clarity, respect, and receptivity.
If this is your first experience with these medicines, a consultation is required before submitting your final payment.
Integration
One of my earliest teachers shared with me that ceremony does not end when we leave the ceremonial space. The spirit of the medicine remains alive within us, continuing to move, teach, and unfold through our everyday lives. In many ways, leaving the circle is where the ceremony of your life truly begins.
Each morning, we will gather for an integration and sharing circle where participants may speak about what arose, ask questions, and receive support in understanding what continues to move through them.
A complimentary Zoom integration circle will also be offered approximately one week after the retreat. This will provide another sacred space to reconnect, share what has continued to unfold, and receive support as you weave the teachings of the weekend into your daily life.
Payment Details
A $133 non-refundable deposit per night is required to reserve your space.
When submitting your deposit, please include a note specifying:

Group Kambo + Bufo Ceremony
Beloved Soul Family,
Join us for our end of summer ceremony and pool gathering of the season, an invitation into connection, devotion, and the simple joy of being alive together.
These gatherings are not events to attend, they are homecomings… spaces where we return to the deepest truth of who we are. We gather not to escape life, but to meet it fully, to breathe together, to open gently, and to allow the layers to fall away that no longer belong to who we are becoming.
We will be nestled at Papa Kim & Joy’s home in Friendswood, TX, gathering on a beautiful acre of garden space surrounded by trees, held in an open-air ceremonial container as we move intentionally through the work. This is a space of safety, reverence, humility, and devotion, where the medicines work with you, awakening the wisdom already alive within your being. We come together in prayer, in courage, and in deep listening, remembering that healing does not happen in isolation, it happens in relationship… with Spirit, with the Earth, and with one another.
Each ceremony is held in an intimate container so that every soul is seen, felt, and honored. There is no performance here, no masks to wear, only presence, sincerity, and the willingness to arrive exactly as you are.
As we close ceremony, we will gently shift into a more relaxed and heart-centered space. If you feel called, bring your swimsuit and towel and come take a dip in the pool, cool the body, and allow the nervous system to settle. From there, we gather around a delicious summer meal, sharing food, stories, and presence, continuing to open, connect, and expand the love within our soul tribe as the medicine continues to move in a grounded and embodied way.
It is my deepest honor to hold this ceremonial field, to serve as a guide, a mirror, and a guardian of this sacred threshold, as we walk together into clarity, release, and renewed devotion to life.
About the Medicine Path
These medicines call to those who are ready to meet themselves more deeply, to explore the subconscious, open the heart, and support the body, mind, and spirit in returning to balance.
Whether you feel called to the frog or the toad, or to walk with both, this is an invitation into release, into clearing what has been held in the system, and into creating space for new energy, clarity, and divine love to move through.
I honor you for listening to that call and for choosing to meet yourself in this way.

8/8 Lions Gate Ceremony
Beloved Soul Tribe,
You are invited to gather with us beneath the energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal, a time many ancient and mystical traditions associate with heightened clarity, courage, remembrance, and alignment with Infinite Loving Intelligence.
Every year as we approach 8/8, we enter what has become known as the Lion’s Gate Portal. Whether experienced through astronomy, ancient mystery traditions, numerology, or the sacred language of symbolism, I have always felt this to be a time when the rhythms of the cosmos amplify what is already awakening within us.
The number eight carries profound symbolism; turned on its side, it becomes the symbol of infinity, reminding us of the eternal dance between spirit and matter, the seen and unseen. This portal does not ask us to become something new, but invites us to release what has obscured the truth of who we have always been.
Held on sacred land surrounded by trees, water, and the living presence of nature, this gathering will offer a space for purification, prayer, connection, and remembrance. Kambo ceremony will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by Bufo at 12:00 noon. Our Bufo ceremony will open with a guided meditation accompanied by sacred sounds, lovingly served by our brother Neil, helping us settle into the body, quiet the mind, and attune our hearts to the amplified energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal.
Together, we enter ceremony with devotion, allowing what is ready to be seen, felt, and released to move through us. As we close, we do not rush away. We remain together on the land and by the water, sharing food, reflection, and the medicine of community. There is something powerful about gathering in this way, where healing is not separate from connection, and the medicine continues to move through our laughter, our stillness, and our presence with one another.
You are welcome exactly as you are.
About the Medicine Path
The medicine calls to those ready to listen beyond the mind, into the quiet places where old stories, emotions, and patterns have lived beneath conscious awareness. These sacred Earth teachers work not only with the body, but at the roots of imbalance, gently revealing what has been held so it may be witnessed, released, and met with love.
Kambo offers a path of deep physical and energetic purification, supporting us in clearing stagnation and returning to greater vitality and presence. Bufo invites us beyond the limitations of the individual self and into direct communion with the infinite, where separation may dissolve and the remembrance of our divine nature becomes available.
Within the amplified energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal, our intention is to consciously release what no longer serves and create space for greater courage, clarity, alignment, and embodied Love.
If you feel drawn to connect with the frog or the sacred toad, I welcome and honor you on this path of communion with Spirit. Together, we release what no longer serves, creating space for renewed vitality, radiant light, and divine remembrance to flow.
Thank you for honoring the call and loving yourself enough to walk this journey.

Group Kambo + Bufo + BBQ + Pool Soiree
Beloved Soul Family,
Join us for our first summer ceremony and pool gathering of the season, an invitation into connection, devotion, and the simple joy of being alive together.
These gatherings are not events to attend, they are homecomings… spaces where we return to the deepest truth of who we are. We gather not to escape life, but to meet it fully, to breathe together, to open gently, and to allow the layers to fall away that no longer belong to who we are becoming.

From there, we gather around a delicious BBQ, sharing food, stories, and presence, continuing to open, connect, and expand the love within our soul tribe as the medicine continues to move in a grounded and embodied way.
PREPARATION & FASTING
The Spirit of the Sacred Medicines begin working on us when we make the decision to work with them. You may come with an intention and my ask is you remain open to what the medicine has to show you. I have found that we may not get what we want but we will always get what we need.
Kambo
DRY FASTING IS REQUIRED. Please arrive with NO LIQUIDS & NO FOOD for at least 4 hours prior to your session. Come prepared with the location of where you would like your gates burned - remember will leave a light tatto/mark in the area for 2-3 months. Please be mindful of wearing appropriate clothing keeping in mind where your gates will be placed. Bottled water will be provided for your treatment, however if you would like to bring your own -you may.
For additional preparation guidance, you may visit the International Association of Kambo Practitioners (IAKP), where I trained and am certified.

What to Expect

After the medicine work, we will gently transition into community, sharing presence, connection, and nourishment together. We will be having a BBQ with grilled vegetables and burgers, along with fresh fruit provided. You are warmly invited to bring something you would enjoy adding to the grill, or a side or dish that feels aligned to share with the tribe as we come together in integration.

ARKAWA Ayahuasca Retreat
Ayahuasca, Kambo & Bufo Retreat
Beloved familia,
There are moments on the path where something within begins to whisper… or perhaps roar… calling you deeper into yourself, into truth, into remembrance.
This is one of those moments.
You are warmly invited to gather in sacred ceremony — to sit with the ancient medicines of Ayahuasca and Bufo, revered allies of the Earth that open gateways into profound healing, expanded awareness, and alignment with Spirit.
This retreat is for those who feel that inner stirring… the quiet knowing that there is more to see, more to release, more to become. A space to gently unravel what has been carried, to meet yourself beyond the layers, and to return into right relationship with Great Spirit, with our Mother Earth, and with the essence of who you truly are.
It is my deepest honor to hold this container — rooted in love, presence, and integrity — where you are supported in your process of release, transformation, and remembrance.
Together, we walk the beauty way… remembering that we are not separate from life, but intimately woven into all of it.

We are deeply honored to welcome Juan Carlos of ARKAWA as a master musician and ayahuascero for this sacred retreat.
Born and raised in the mountain regions of the Amazonian jungle in Putumayo, Colombia, Juan Carlos was immersed from a young age in the spiritual traditions and healing ways of his ancestors. Growing up surrounded by the sacred plant medicine of Ayahuasca, his path was deeply shaped by the wisdom of the jungle and the guidance of elder medicine carriers.
For over 25 years, Juan Carlos has walked the path of sacred service, offering his voice, his heart, and his prayers in ceremonies around the world. A world-renowned ceremonial musician, he is known for his profound ability to channel healing through song — melodies that seem to come straight from the Earth and stars, awakening deep remembrance in the soul.
Each song he carries is a living transmission — medicine that moves through sound, opening portals of transformation, clearing, and deep emotional release. Through his decades of work with Ayahuasca, he has become a vessel for a vast repertoire of channeled icaros and healing songs, each one a bridge between realms, a call home to the truth within.
Juan Carlos travels the world with this medicine, sharing his music and presence in devotion to collective healing, unity, and spiritual awakening. His presence in this retreat is a true blessing — and his music, a sacred fire that warms the heart and guides the spirit. You can learn more about ARKAWA here.

Monthly Kambo + Bufo Group Ceremony
Kambo cleanse at 9am | Bufo 12 noon-sunset
Beloved Soul Tribe,
You are lovingly invited into sacred circle — a living prayer where hearts meet, stories soften, and remembrance awakens.
These gatherings are not events to attend… they are homecomings to the deepest truth of who you are.
Each ceremony is held in a small, intimate container so that every soul is seen, heard, and honored. We gather not to escape life, but to meet it fully — to breathe together, to open gently, to let the layers fall away that no longer belong to who we are becoming.
This is a space of safety, reverence, humility, and devotion — where the medicines work not on you, but with you, awakening the wisdom already alive within your cells. We come together in prayer, in courage, and in deep listening, remembering that healing does not happen alone… it happens in relationship — with Spirit, with the Earth, and with one another.
There is no performance here. No masks to wear. Only presence, sincerity, and the willingness to arrive exactly as you are.
It is my deepest honor to hold this ceremonial field — to serve as a guide, a mirror, and a guardian of this sacred threshold — as we walk together into clarity, release, and renewed devotion to life.
About the Medicine Path
The medicine calls to those ready to listen beyond the mind — to the quiet places where old stories, emotions, and patterns have lived beneath awareness. These sacred Earth teachers work not only with the body, but at the roots of imbalance, gently revealing what has been held in the subconscious so it may be met with love.
If you feel drawn to connect with the frog (Kambo) or the toad (Bufo), I welcome and honor you on this path of communion with Spirit. Together, we release what no longer serves, creating space for renewed vitality, radiant light, and divine remembrance to flow.
Thank you for honoring the call and loving yourself enough to walk this journey.

One of my earliest teachers shared with me that the ceremony does not end when we leave the ceremonial space — the spirit of the medicine remains alive within us, continuing to move, teach, and unfold through our everyday lives. That the ceremony doesn’t end when we leave the circle - in fact its where the ceremony of your life actually begins.
Because I deeply care about each of you and your soul’s journey, I offer a complimentary Zoom integration circle for everyone who participates in our group ceremonies. This is a sacred space to gather, share what is arising, and receive support as you continue to walk with the medicine and gently integrate the experience into daily life.
Your Zoom link will be sent via text one week after our group prayer ceremony.

Guided by: Carlos Chávez – Shipibo Maestro & Wisdom Keeper
Carlos Chávez is a devoted son of the Amazon — a master curandero of the Shipibo lineage whose life has been shaped through over three decades of deep communion with Ayahuasca and the sacred Master Plants of the jungle. He comes from a long line of healers who walk in prayer with Pachamama, and yet he carries his wisdom with remarkable humility, warmth, and joy. To be in his presence is to feel both deeply held and genuinely uplifted.
High in the mountains of Tarapoto, Peru, Carlos tends a sacred medicine space where he carefully prepares the Ayahuasca with devotion, prayer, and precision. Each batch is cooked in ceremony, guided by the plants themselves, honoring the intelligence of the jungle and the lineage he carries.
Carlos also holds a rare gift of vision and clairvoyance, allowing him to perceive the subtle realms where imbalance first forms. In the Shipibo tradition, the most powerful healing tool is the icaro — sacred songs received directly from the plants. These ancient transmissions awaken the medicine within, cleanse dense energies, and perform what many experience as spiritual surgery. When Carlos sings, the jungle moves through him.
It is also a deep honor to share that the medicine we will drink in ceremony is the Ayahuasca I personally cooked alongside Carlos during my most recent Master Plant dieta in the jungle — a brew prepared in prayer, devotion, and living relationship with the plants.
To sit in ceremony with Carlos is to be guided by generations of wisdom, held in joy and humility, and invited into profound healing and remembrance.

Guided by:
Carlos Chávez: a native of the Shipibo lineage & tribe, has worked with Ayahuasca and other Master Plants from the Amazonian jungle for over 30 years. Coming from a long lineage of curanderos who commune with plants and Pachamama, he carries a profound gift of vision and clairvoyance that, combined with the medicine, holds immense power to heal. In the Shipibo tradition, the most potent healing tool is their Icaros—ancient sacred chants passed down through generations. These songs awaken the medicine within, cleansing energy and performing spiritual surgery in a deeply transformative way.
